Born and raised in the wine country of Northern California, Timothy Teruo Watters (TTW) followed his namesake and Grandfather, Teruo Iyama, into the subjective world of art. TTW would sit in Teruo Iyama’s red-tiled art studio eagerly taking in Impressionistic paintings of Sausalito, custom-built Japanese wood tables, artistic stained glass windows and beautifully kept gardens. Learning that art can be anything and everything – the task of measuring up to Teruo Iyama in media and also skill motivates TTW to continue his artistic growth.

TTW began feeding his hunger for creativity and expression by drawing in sketchbooks during family dinners and teaching himself painting as a teenager. Today he occupies the title of Chief Creative Officer and Head Designer for Teruo Artistry, a creative lifestyle clothing brand. Simultaneously, he continues to refine his art.

With art in his blood, TTW carries on more than just a name, he carries on a tradition. Passion with direction. Creativity with purpose. Life with imagination.

Vibrancy, precision and color dominate TTW’s art. Invoking comparisons to stained glass, TTW’s work incorporates and utilizes bold lines to capture individual pieces giving them importance and at the same time, create a network tying these same pieces together as one.

Recently, TTW designed the stage and backdrop for the Sunset Strip Music Festival and presented paintings from his ICON series to Nas, Damian Marley, Slash, E-40, Snoop Dogg, Ozzy Osbourne, Chris Cornell, P. Diddy, Pitbull, Lil' Jon, Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, Timbaland, Baron Davis, Too Short and DJ Skee.
